More Casual Nomenclature

Henchman #21 (trying to get his fallen partner raised from the dead): But you're a necromancer! That's what necromancers do! That is the definition of necromancer!

Dr. Orpheus: Well, yes, technically. But the term is used loosely these days. Magician, wizard, warlock...they sound rather goofy. Necromancer is all we've got left.

"You Princes Of Venture!"

Coming soon (ETA August 2010) from Bif Bang Pow, it's the first run of The Venture Brothers action figures! Sculpted in the classic 8-inch Mego style with real cloth clothing, it's Dr. Venture, Brock Samson, the Monarch, and Dean (can Hank and Dr. Girlfriend be far to follow?). At almost $20 a fig, they're rather high end, but well worth it, I think. As you can see, these are only prototypes, but just look at that sculpt of Dean's head. Flawless! Available for pre-order over at Entertainment Earth. Mego-style is not my favorite toy format (well, sentimental, perhaps), but I'll take it!

Order of the Triad Action Figures!

The Alchemist: Sweet! The action figures came!
Jefferson Twilight: Finally! Merchandising. That's where the real money's at!
The Alchemist: Mmm, cha-ching!
Dr. Orpheus: Actually, Hasbro passed. These I made myself.
Jefferson Twilight: Hmm, nice work. A little on the creepy side, but...you sculpted these yourself?
Dr. Orpheus: Oh, heavens no! I merely repainted an old Mego doll of the Falcon.
The Alchemist: You rather be Spock with a bald spot? I'll trade ya.
The Venture Bothers. Watch it. Buy it. Base your life on its teachings.
